We are looking to fill 3 positions funded by the TÜBITAK 1011 project "Polyhedral Omega - Generalizations and Applications".

There are available positions at all levels (senior undergraduate, master's, PhD and post-doc).

The candidates can have a background either in mathematics or computer science/engineering.

Polyhedral Omega is a method for solving linear Diophantine systems using generating functions and polyhedral geometry.

There are two main lines of research in the project:

1. Generalize Polyhedral Omega to work on symbolic dimension. This means that the dimension is not part of the input, and we essentially solve a family of problems at once. We plan to use rewriting techniques for that.
2. Apply Polyhedral Omega to Integer Linear Programming. Polyhedral Omega offers fast ways to obtain the structure of the solution set, thus it may be used for speeding up optimization.

Successful candidates will have office space in the ALCYON lab at Gebze Technical University.
